How do I place an item on hold?

With our new catalog, you can reserve books from home! A library staff member will pull the title for you so it is waiting at the checkout desk when you visit the library. Please allow up to a week for hold processing.
You can place a hold when viewing a list of search results or from the item page itself (see screenshot below). Simply click the "Place hold" button.
Once you've placed the hold, you will be taken to a confirmation screen. Please click "Confirm hold" to confirm the hold.
You will be notified when the hold becomes available. You can view your active and available holds from your account page. You can also use this page if you need to modify or cancel the hold. We will hold the item for you for 30 days after it has been pulled from the shelf.
To pick up the hold, please visit the check out desk at the HLLC with your student ID and let a staff member know you have an item waiting. Please let us know if you have questions or need assistance. We're happy to help!
